In the framework of the series of annual meetings Biotecnología Habana, the 2003 edition will be devoted to the medical applications of biotechnology. The Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology of Havana will be the best place to see, hear and discuss the latest news in Cancer, Immunomodulation, Infectious diseases and Bio Computer Science. The five-day congress will give you the chance to exchange on these topics with some of the world's top researchers and specialists, key business and investment leaders.

Commercial Exhibition

The organizing committee of Biotechnology Havana 2003 is very pleased to invite you to the trade fair on reagents, materials, equipment, and products related to the field of biotechnology to be held at Centre for Genetic Engineer and Biotechnology as part of this International Congress November 23 - 28.
On this occasion Biotechnology Havana 2003 is devoted to medical applications of biotechnology and we are certain that it will be a good opportunity for specialist, researchers, and business people from all over the world to contact each other. More than 1 500 delegates from 43 countries attended the last congress on this topic in 1998 and 72 national and foreign firms were present in its trade fair. A large participation is expected this time.
The fee for exhibitors at the trade fair will be 150.00 USD a square meter. As previous fairs they will have the opportunity to arrange directed technical chats in the intervals between scientific sessions. Properly equipped rooms will be available for this purpose.
We are just awaiting your requests for participation as soon as possible to organize an activity program according to your interests.

EduToursToCuba.com has been given the mandate by the Organizing Committee of Biotechnologia Habana 2003 to facilitate the venue of the Canadian delegation to this Congress.

We have worked out a package with Canadian departures that includes:

  • The delivery of all travel documents and information from our Montreal office to participants anywhere in Canada
  • Personalized travel service and suggestions based on Canadian needs and preoccupations, including extended stays
  • Return air from Toronto or Montreal
  • Canadian taxes and Canadian airport departure tax
  • Cuban tourist card
  • Reception at the Havana airport by Congress representatives
  • All transportation and transfers in modern air-conditioned buses dedicated to Congress delegates, accompanied by guide. The rates do not include the registration fee which is payable in Cuba only and in US dollars cash.

Academic Delegates: 380 $ US
Non Academic Delegates: 550 $ US
Students: 190 $ US
Accompanying persons: 200 $ US

The Registration fee includes the welcome cocktail, entry to the full program, the Congress documents, participation in all the scientific sessions and the business exhibition. The accompanying people have the right to participate in the Opening ceremony and the Welcome cocktail.

Our rates do not include:

  • Cuban airport departure taxes (25 $US)
  • Two meals per day
  • Drinks
  • Insurance- complete cancellation, interruption, baggage, health and accident deluxe package insurance available from VCC on request. Please indicate your age and date of birth.
  • Tips

Extended stay for holidays in Havana or Varadero is also possible: On request.

Air is with Cubana de Aviacion, an Airbus 320, leased from LACSA, Costa Rican airlines, with a crew trained and licensed in Costa Rica. First class is available on request. LACSA airline flights are also available on request, however, it is more costly.

Montreal (Dorval)

Departure: Saturday November 22 at 6 P.M. arriving in Havana at 10 P.M.
Return: Saturday November 29 at 1 P.M., arriving in Montreal (Dorval) at 5 P.M.

Toronto (Terminal 3)

Departure: Sunday November 23 at 6 P.M. arriving in Havana at 10 P.M.
Return: Sunday November 30 at 1 P.M., arriving in Toronto (Terminal 3) at 5 P.M.


If you are interested, how do you proceed?
1. If you have any questions, e-mail EduToursToCuba.com. This is the official education tours web site of Voyage Culture Cuba (VCC), the registered and licensed travel agency that is authorized to process registrations and payments.
2. Complete our Registration form and send it in to VCC with a down payment of 200 $ CA. In order to assure that you procure the hotel of your choice, we suggest that you register with VCC and make the down payment as soon as possible. Payment to VCC can be made by Credit Card or by check made out to VCC in Trust.Please note that insurance must be purchased at the same time as the down payment.
3. Once the registration and air/hotel reservations are confirmed by VCC, Register your participation directly with VCC. We will send you the form.
4. Final payment to VCC is due at the latest 45 days before the departure, that is October 8, 2003.
