Film Festival 24th International Festival
of
New Latin American Cinema

Havana, Cuba -
December 3-13, 2002

The full program of the Film Festival is never released until one or two weeks before the actual opening of the Festival itself. One of the main features of the Festival is the competition for prizes. Therefore, the films being presented are only ratified a short period before the inauguration, or when the producers actually arrive with their films in Havana just prior to the first day of the film presentations.

Our package includes Registration in the Festival, entrance to the 200 films being shown, and daily transport to the films and events connected with the Festival. In addition to films from Cuba, Latin America and the Caribbean, there are also representations from the U.S., Canada, Spain, England, Italy and other countries. The Festival attracts film professionals from around the world. Non-professional film buffs find the Festival an excellent occasion for a cultural trip to Cuba, combining the enriching Festival experience with visits, sun and beach.

Special considerations for groups composed of
Film school students and faculty.

AMERICAN RESIDENTS, PRICES IN CANADIAN DOLLARS

We can work out a package for US residents including a connector flight from the major U.S. cities to Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver or Calgary. For those Americans living very far from the Montreal, Toronto, Calgary or Vancouver gateway cities, such as in California, EduToursToCuba also offers departures from Cancun, Mexico. This alternative package includes return air Cancun/Havana/Cancun, airport transfers, the hotel of your choice, and all Film Festival activities, Festival registration and transportation as described on this web page.

For those Americans travelling with a license, EduToursToCuba can propose a customized package with departures from Miami, Los Angeles or New York. HOTEL INFORMATION:

Based on our past experience, we are offering a choice of six hotels. You can choose, depending on your budget. One is the Hotel Nacional, which is the headquarters of the Festival. The hotel Deauville is located only a few blocks from the entrance of Old Havana. The others are located in the Vedado district of which, the Hotel Flamingo/Vedado and the Habana Libre are a five-minute walk to the Film headquarters at the Nacional (about 3 blocks.) This neighbourhood also has many theatres and is one of the main cultural attractions of the city. The Riviera and the Melia Cohiba are also located in the Vedado area, but about approximately 5 minutes by taxi or a 30-minute walk to the Nacional headquarters and the most theatres.

Our rate includes festival credentials and entrances to all films, normally around 200 films. The most important theatres are within a short walking distance of the Nacional, Vedado/Flamingo and Habana Libre hotels: the Yara, La Rampa, and Riviera theatres. The Acapulco and Lido theatres are about 15 minutes by taxi from these hotels.

One of the most important theatres for the film festival is the Cinemateca. Our rate includes three daily transfers from the Nacional Hotel to this headquarters of the Cuban film industry.
