Social Science Latin American Faculty (FLACSO)

FLACSO is a research facility of the university integrated into the FLACSO network in Latin America, which includes units in Argentina and Chile. Focusing on social science research, the unit also offers classes to visiting groups of international students.
INTERNATIONAL WORK
In May of 2000, University of Vermont Faculty and staff visited Cuba and the Social Science Latin American Faculty (FLACSO) of the Universidad de la Habana. One purpose of the trip was to create opportunities for educational exchanges and collaborative research opportunities.
Since then, EduTourstoCuba.com has been facilitating many of the travel arrangements for several groups of students and faculty. These study tours are organized in collaboration with the International Education Office of the University of Vermont.

May, 2004, University of Vermont educational trip: psychology, two weeks including a visit to an agricultural cooperative, a visit to a children's school and a visit to Las Terrazas, a rural community based on sustainable development in the biosphere reserve situated in the Sierra del Rosario.
