• We have added a new optional trip during the week-end: the Steam engine train near Cienfuegos. Cuba was the first country in South America and the seventh in the world to introduce trains (1837). Steam trains in Cuba were closely linked to the development of the sugar industry (20 CUC).

They are all from Cienfuegos. In addition to their devoted attention during the classes as such, they teach the students during the day and evening excursions and activities as well.

During the lunch breaks, dine with the professors and continue your language training by familiarizing yourself with Cuba's culture, people and history!

During the week end, we offer optional excursions to interesting site such as Trinidad, El Nicho and Havana. There is at least one professor accompanying you even on these week end activities!

These informal chats during lunch or their presence during the week end optional excursions, constitute teachers’ presence OVER AND ABOVE the 62 hour course.

It is no wonder that our language trip to Cienfuegos has won the praise of pedagogues in North America as a very unique opportunity for all those who want to either begin to learn the language even from scratch, or for those who are at the most advanced level.

Our teaching staff has experience with people of all ages, from high school youth to young adults to retired folks. Do you think you will have a difficult time as a beginner? Our teachers are able to speak English as well, and will do so at the beginners level only if someone really needs help.

Do you want to extend your stay for one or two weeks over and above the basic two-week trip, combined with private Spanish lessons or just take a vacation at the beach? Both options are available.

For those wishing an extended stay of 3 or 4 weeks total, we strongly suggest that you reserve at least three months before your departure date. We have less availability for three or four week stays in comparison to our two-week trips.

Faro Luna is on the Caribbean Sea, in the south central area of Cuba, about 15 minutes by car to the City of Cienfuegos.

The courses at Cienfuegos (Faro Luna near the beach) are offered throughout the year except for October and November. From the Christmas break to mid-April, there are departures every two weeks. For the rest of the period, there is one departure per month.

Our package includes a full pedagogical program that allows for anyone to fully immerse oneself in the Spanish language, practice to their heart's content in the context of learning about Cuba, its culture, its fascinating history and its most hospitable and cultivated people.

It is a very good setting for anyone who wants to practice Spanish. For example, after having visited the nearby agricultural co-operative, school and medical clinic as part of the excursion with the professors and other clients, you can return on your own. Take a pleasant 2 kilometre walk on your own to the same co-op in order to visit and mix with the people you have already met.
